With the League about to vote on a change of format, some smaller clubs have voiced concerns.
It's felt that the clubs at the top of the League may be feathering their nest by signing big deals with the proposed new 'Premier League', leaving smaller clubs to be the paupers in the lessor 'Championship'.
Hartlepools boss Matt Barley.
"Two options have been proposed to change the format of the League, when the old one actually worked quite well. This change to a two tier system will seriously jeopardise the future of small clubs like mine who will miss out on the TV rights generated by this so called 'Premier League' 'Prima-donna League' more like."
"Having either one big division or 2 EQUAL divisions, like in MLS, will ensure the money will be shared equally"
"After speaking with my chairman, and many other managers of the clubs who will be forced to play lower league football, I can say that many may consider a 'break-away' league."
"But let's hope it doesn't come to that"
